What are dental implants?
A dental implant is made of titanium and shaped like a screw. The implant is placed into the jawbone and serves as a secure root for the new tooth. Once in place, the implant can be used to attach different types of dental restorations, such as crowns, bridges or dentures.

Patients have been successfully treated with dental implants since the mid-sixties. Today there are people who have had their dental implants for more than forty years.
The Astra Tech implant system has a unique design, which has been proven in clinical studies to give safe and predictable long-lasting results.
Astra Tech BioManagement Complex™
A successful implant system cannot be determined by one single feature alone. Just as with nature, there must be several interdependent features working together.
The following combination of key features is unique to Astra Tech:

- OsseoSpeed™
A modified implant surface to encourage more bone to form around the implant more rapidly
- MicroThread™
Microscopic threads on the implant surface encourage biomechanical bone stimulation to maintain bone around the implant after healing
- Conical Seal Design™
A tight, strong and stable fit of the implant and abutment
- Connective Contour™
Increased soft tissue contact zone and volume to encourage more natural gum contours around the implant
